Redefining Beauty: Miss You Can Do It Pageant
Miss You Can Do It is a national non-profit beauty pageant for girls and young women with special needs and challenges. It was founded 10 years ago by Abbey Curran, Miss Iowa USA 2008. She was born with cerebral palsy, but she’s never let physical challenges limit her from achieving her dreams. She first became interested in pageants as a high school sophomore, but she never dreamed she would one day be crowned Miss Iowa. Abby founded Miss You Can Do It to give other girls with disabilities similar experiences and accomplishments. She hopes the pageant helps people re-evaluate their ideas of beauty—both inside and out.
